The Metabolic Studio is a direct charitable activity of the Annenberg Foundation. Led by artist and director Lauren Bon, it is her studio for practice at the intersection of art and philanthropy.
The Metabolic Studio seeks a strong Drupal developer to work with a small, enthusiastic team in a fast-paced, distributed work environment. This is a 3-month, 30-40 hour per week contract with a strong possibility for an extension.
Required Technical Skills:
Candidate will mainly be responsible for creating a mobile optimized, media-rich site in Drupal and for enhancing the functionality of 3-5 existing Drupal 7 microsites. The ideal candidate must, in coordination w/ the Technical Lead and Project Owner, be able to:
• tease out and prioritize site requirements
• demonstrate excellent front-end (configuration and theming) Drupal skills
• adhere to industry and Drupal best practices
• research and evaluate modules
• plan and implement best method to create site in Drupal
• participate in quality assurance testing, including cross browser compatibility
• provide technical support after site release
• document on-going work on a weekly basis for knowledge-transfer and cross-training purposes
• have solid experience with streaming video/audio for web and mobile
Required Professional Characteristics:
We are a highly productive, distributed team, working in a rapidly evolving environment. The ideal candidate must:
• have experience working successfully with a remote team
• have been part of a team using the agile development methodology OR be willing to learn fast, jump in and ask a lot of questions
• have experience using issue tracker software (Jira experience a plus)
• be able to work with minimal supervision and produce visible results
• complete tasks on time with a high degree of quality
• be prompt and reliable and have excellent communications skills
• have a great attitude, be adaptable to change and have a sense of humor!
